How Lauren Sánchez hid the news of Jeff Bezos engagement for days

Lauren Sánchez was very strategic in keeping her engagement to Jeff Bezos a secret.

The former news anchor, 53, brilliantly hid her engagement ring from the paps during her European trip with the Amazon CEO, 59, last week.

However, by May 21, Sánchez was a lot more carefree about showing off her bling as news of the engagement had reportedly gotten out to her close circle of friends.

That day, Bezos and the mother of three were photographed arriving in Cannes, France, and her engagement ring was clearly noticeable as her hand rested on the yacht’s railing.

Page Six broke the news of their engagement the following day.

The pair arrived in Mallorca, Spain, on May 15, and it is believed that in the days that followed, Bezos popped the question, according to TMZ.

By May 17, the couple was seemingly already engaged.

In photos from that day, Sánchez’s diamond faced the inside of her hand and was not visible to the paparazzi snapping pics of her while she was aboard her fiancé’s $500 million superyacht.

During a dinner date at La Petite Maison on Monday night, the broadcaster proudly flashed her 20-carat ring to the paparazzi.

The massive sparkler is estimated to cost roughly $2.5 million, according to experts

Sánchez and Bezos — who have been together for five years — have not yet issued statements on their engagement.

Page Six exclusively revealed in January 2019 that the former media personality and billionaire mogul were dating. The news came just days after his and his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott’s divorce was announced

Sánchez at the time was separated from Hollywood talent mogul Patrick Whitesell, with whom she shares two kids. She also has a son with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

A legal expert told Page Six exclusively Tuesday that, once they get married, Sánchez stands to make at least $1 million “every year” that they remain together. She could also get a “multimillion-dollar residence.”

Sánchez and Bezos have not revealed if they plan to sign a prenuptial agreement.
