According to the local newspaper “Al-Shorouk”, the young man Ismail Brabah from the province of Adrar (southwestern Algeria) appears in the clip circulating on social media while lying on his stomach next to a grave.
She added that “Rabah has entered into great sadness and hysterics since the death of his mother about two years ago, which made him not leave her grave, neither day nor night, and does not care about his situation, neither the summer sea nor the winter cold.”
Activists said it was “the way Rabah seems to have found no other way to express how sad he is at his mother’s separation. He became separated from the outside world as a whole to limit his world to the grave where his mother rested.”
For his part, the Wali (Governor) of the province of Adrar, Larbi Bahloul, assigned the Director of Health and Population to take care of the psychological and medical patient, as she transferred him to the Emergency Department of the public hospital institution Adrar, and diagnosed him and provided him with initial treatments.
A psychiatrist has also been assigned to track his health, who in turn will transfer him to a mental hospital and place him under care.
The scene saddened many platform users who sought his excuse, talked about the extent of the sadness that brought him to this situation, and others questioned the role of local authorities to take care of him since the beginning of his deterioration.
