Now, the UK-based production company behind the game show, Banijay, has spoken out against the accusations.
Chief content officer Lucas Green told Variety on Wednesday that he disagrees with the Duchess of Sussex’s words — because the brand is always changing itself to keep up with the times.
“We are constantly evolving the format so that it isn’t the same show it was 15 plus years ago,” he said. “A lot of work goes into modernizing our formats to ensure they represent our values as a company and wider society.”
Markle, 41, starred on the NBC reality show from 2006 to 2007 as a “briefcase model,” displaying the luggage containing various amounts of cash for which contestants were vying.

While she claimed she was “grateful” for the gig, she felt “not smart” while being on the series.
“There was a very cookie-cutter idea of precisely what we should look like,” Markle said, adding that she and her fellow quiz show models would line up before tapings to put on false eyelashes, as well as getting hair extensions, spray tans and bra padding.
It was solely about beauty, and not necessarily about brains,” the former “Suits” actress said.I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn’t the focus of why we were there and I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach,” Markle continued. “Like I said, I was thankful for the job but not for how it made me feel, which was not smart.”
Meanwhile, Donna Feldman, another model who appeared on “Deal or No Deal,” slammed Markle’s allegations last year.
She dished to The Post that she clashes with the former actress’ claims that any of the models were treated like hussies.
